Earth Day 2025

Saturday, May 17th
10am-12pm @ Elvehjem Park Shelter

This year, we're doing Earth Day a little differently! For years, our annual Acewood Park cleanup has been a fantastic success, and we're so grateful for everyone's participation. This year, while we absolutely welcome anyone who wishes to continue beautifying Acewood Park, we're focusing our primary neighborhood efforts on the Elvehjem Sanctuary. And we’ve decided to hold this a month after Earth Day hoping for some better weather and more volunteers!

We've noticed that this wonderful natural space could really benefit from our community's support and attention. Often overlooked, the Elvehjem Sanctuary provides crucial habitat and opportunities for nature appreciation right in our backyard.

So, this year, we're encouraging our neighbors to join us in supporting the Elvehjem Sanctuary!

Whether you're passionate about preserving local ecosystems, enjoy the tranquility of nature, or simply want to make a tangible difference, your help at the Sanctuary will be deeply appreciated. Glove and trash bags will be provided. We’ll meet at Elvehjem Sanctuary Shelter at 10am.

What about Acewood Park?

For those who have made the Acewood Park cleanup a tradition, please feel free to continue your efforts there! Every bit of help makes a difference in our neighborhood. The Acewood Conservation Park event will be held on April, 26 - 10am-12pm. Details can be found on the Earth Day Challenge website.

Let's show some love to a vital, yet often underappreciated, part of our community this year. We hope to see you at the Elvehjem Sanctuary!

Let’s keep our neighborhood welcoming, safe, and a clean space for all to enjoy. Thank you and see you on the 17th!
